MEET 'JANE'

Although MomBombs have only been on shelves for 2 weeks, we have been lucky enough to receive enough sales to contribute a substantial amount to our non profit, MomBomb.org, which helps mothers in need. One mother was nominated recently, and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to help her out. To give you a bit of background: she is a mother of three and a full-time employee at a local hospital. She has been going through a rough divorce, and is struggling to manage some of the tasks that she’s so used to completing on a daily basis. To give you a sense of how we helped her, I want to relay our conversation:
Me: Hello Jane*, I understand you’re having a tough time; I’m sorry for that, but my organization wants to help. Which of the 4 services would help you the most? Laundry Drop Off/Pick Up, Child Care, Housekeeping, or Prepared Meal Delivery?
Jane: Oh, for us the food delivery would be a godsend.
Me: Great! I’ll send you some options for services, you choose what you like and I’ll get it paid for. I really like the prepared meals because you can just throw them in the oven and not worry about having to actually cook.
Jane: [Silence] Well, I hate to be a cog in the wheel but we just have a toaster oven and microwave because my oven broke. I’m so sorry, I don’t know how we can do this.
Me: Well, let me ask you this. Would you rather receive an oven?
You can imagine what happened next. The oven has been ordered and is on the way to Jane!
Now, this wasn’t exactly the way we thought we’d roll out our first service, but we couldn’t be more thrilled! We were able to fufill our mission, even if this instance didn’t go EXACTLY according to plan. I can’t tell you the joy I feel in knowing that Jane and her three children will have hot meals in a new oven.
This is why I get up in the morning. I can’t wait to help more Janes, but I would be remiss if I didn’t thank all of the people who bought Mom Bombs first. You’re the ones who really made this happen. The gift is certainly in the giving and I thank you for helping us provide a temporary lift to mothers who need it.
From the bottom of my heart (and I’m sure Jane’s too) – THANK YOU!!!!

"We can't say thank you enough for your help. Without MOMBOMB we would still have a dead oven and be struggling to make meals. My cousin helped me install the stove on the 8th of April. He did the electrical and I modified the cabinets it went into.
The first night we used the oven they helped with everything. It was fantastic to make fresh buns for our burgers and we also made brownies. They don’t last long in our house!! Since then, we have enjoyed making whatever we want lol.
I will actually be able to make a whole turkey or Spiral ham this year!! Our old oven did not even fit a cookie sheet, Now we can fit two at once 😊 This has been very exciting for us.
Thank you so much for helping my family. Not having an oven made things very difficult. You don’t know how valuable an oven is until you do not have one to use. The kids have always loved to help cook, this new addition makes it that much more fun for us." - Jane
